Our products
TetraBOOST E-guard 15 protects your classic car or motorcycle against ethanol corrosion by E5 and E10 petrol, even up to 15% ethanol (E15). It’s the only additive that really makes leaded fuel. TetraBOOST E-guard 15 is not a lead substitute, but adds real tetraethyl lead (TEL) to petrol. Tetraethyl lead provides better protection and performance than lead substitutes based on phosphorus, manganese, sodium and potassium.
Components
TetraBOOST E-guard 15 is a solution of tetraethyl lead in aromatic hydrocarbons, which, together with the necessary chemical scrubbers, makes real leaded gasoline. Specially developed for older engines, TetraBOOST E-guard 15 allows you to drive or race without fear of damage from inadequate valve seat protection, damage from pre-ignition or damage from low octane fuel. TetraBOOST E-guard 15 also slows the burn rate of modern fuels to a level more suitable for older engines, resulting in easier starting and smoother, cooler running.
Using TetraBOOST
TetraBOOST E-guard 15 has been fully tested and allowed, but is a hazardous and flammable substance, so it is important to use it according to the instructions (Dosing link). TetraBOOST E-guard 15 is only suitable for cars and motorcycles without a catalytic converter. You simply add a measured dose to the tank before filling it with premium or super unleaded pump fuel to the correct concentration. Here (link Dosing) you will find information about dosing and mixing ratios.
Storage
If a car is stationary for a long period of time, the E10 or E5 petrol in the fuel tank may undergo changes:
- Oxidation: E10 and E5 petrol contain oxidation sensitive components. Prolonged exposure to oxygen can lead to oxidation of the fuel, which can result in the formation of gum and varnish layers. These deposits can clog the fuel lines, fuel pump and injectors, leading to engine problems.
- Evaporation: E10 and E5 petrol contain volatile components that can evaporate. This can result in a decrease in the volatility of the fuel, which can affect the starting performance of the engine.
- Water separation: Modern fuel compositions such as E10 and E5 contain a limited amount of water. If the car is stationary for a long time, condensation may form in the fuel tank. Water can collect at the bottom of the tank because it is heavier than gasoline. The water can then enter the fuel lines and the engine, causing problems.
TetraBOOST E-guard 15 protects against internal corrosion and acid formation through ethanol water absorption. It will not cause drilling rust or lose its effectiveness during longer periods of storage. Current gasoline spoils after just 60 days. With the addition of TetraBOOST E-guard 15, the life of the fuel can be extended to 2 years.
In addition to E-guard 15, for comprehensive protection, we offer TetraBOOST Fuel Life Extender, TetraBOOST Bug Kill, and TetraBOOST E-guard Road. Each product is designed to address a specific form of protection.
